The Ghost Army of WWII 10/16/2018 Posted on October 10, 2018
Interested in the exploits of 1,100 daring GIs who served in a bold, fascinating, secret World War II unit? The 23rd HQ Special Troops, also known as The Ghost Army, was an unsung top-secret deception unit that used inflatable tanks, sound effects, and illusion to fool Hitler’s legions on the battlefields of Europe. Many of the soldiers were artists, recruited to handle visual trickery. In stolen moments, they painted and sketched all they saw.
The Ghost Army of WWII presentation on Tues, October 16, 2018, from 5:30 to 6:45 PM will bring their exploits to life with video clips of veterans, WWII footage, photos, maps, and more.
There will be a Q&A session included. Presenter Rick Beyer co-authored the New York Times bestseller The Ghost Army of WWII and produced the PBS documentary The Ghost Army. His books and DVDs will be available for purchase.
